I had the honor and pleasure of working alongside the remarkable staff of the Perry Precedent for 3 years. The publication has won six national awards, including 2nd Best in Show in 2017, and dozens of state awards. In those three years I was able to produce many stories about a diverse list of beats from football to our school's DECA program. I worked as an assistant editor for the opinions section and finished my time at The Precedent as the photo editor; overseeing all of the media used within our paper and online as well as producing content. Not only was I able to contribute to our print paper and website, I learned how to live tweet from sporting events and utilize our social media platforms to promote content.
My time at the Precedent was invaluable. It honed my skills in photography and Adobe programs as well as strengthened my ability to have meaningful conversations and connections with people. Overall, it made me the writer, photographer, and team player that I am today; and I hope to use all of these skills to tell stories that would otherwise go untold.

Faith or Football
Case Hatch knew it would be a tough sacrifice. The senior linebacker was the Arizona defensive player of the year in division-I last fall and was undoubtedly the emotional and physical leader on the playoff-bound Puma football team.
The Battle of the Jones'
Tonight fans will flock to John Wrenn Stadium for a match up of two 1-0 teams, as Perry hosts the Mesquite Wildcats.
The game marks the first time the two Gilbert schools will have met on the gridiron, and it also will serve as a family reunion as head coach Preston Jones will, for the first time in his career, look across the field and see his mentor, his father Jim, on the opposing sideline.

Concussions in High School Athletics
Concussions leave a big impact on athletes at all levels and are one of the most common injuries among players. There are many risks that accompany any physical activity and concussions are a great threat to athletes and do not discriminate against any players based on their sport.
“Concussions are a threat to me because they can not only damage my career as an athlete, but also who I am as a person.”
